Some of the most popular areas among the expat community include:
- Volga – One of the most sought-after neighborhoods, known for its beautiful promenade, stunning sunset views, and excellent restaurants. It’s peaceful, walkable, and extremely convenient for year-round living.
- Plazh (Beach Area) – The main beachfront zone. Lively and busy during the summer months, and much quieter in winter. Some businesses close in the off-season, as this area is primarily a seasonal destination.
Although Durrës is generally very walkable, choosing the right neighborhood is crucial to being happy here.
